Finding Your Fit

Knowing your tire size helps you get the right tires for your vehicle so everything fits, drives, and wears the way it should. The correct size keeps your ride smooth, your handling safe, and your tires lasting longer, while the wrong size can cause rubbing, shaking, or uneven wear. Checking your size before buying or replacing tires makes the whole process faster, easier, and worry‑free.

Your tire size is printed right on the sidewall of the tire, and finding it is simple once you know what to look for. Start by looking at the outer sidewall of any tire on your vehicle; you’ll see a series of letters and numbers grouped together, usually beginning with a letter like P, LT, or sometimes no letter at all. This is your tire size.

It will look something like P215/60R16.

The first number (215) is the tire’s width in millimeters, the second number (60) is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width, the letter R indicates radial construction, and the final number (16) is the wheel diameter in inches. The full size is always molded into the rubber, so even if it’s dusty or worn, a quick wipe will reveal it clearly.
